National Service Scheme (NSS)

The National Service Scheme (NSS) at Sahyajyothi Arts and Science College, Kumily, is a vibrant and dynamic student-led initiative aimed at fostering a sense of social responsibility and community service among students. Established with the objective of developing the personality of students through community service, the NSS unit of our college engages in a variety of activities that contribute to the betterment of society.

Our NSS volunteers actively participate in diverse programs, including health camps, blood donation drives, environmental conservation projects, and educational outreach initiatives. They work closely with local communities to address pressing social issues, promote sustainable practices, and enhance the quality of life for those in need.

Key activities organized by our NSS unit include:

  • Health and Hygiene Campaigns: Conducting awareness programs on health, hygiene, and nutrition to promote healthy living.
  • Environmental Initiatives: Organizing tree planting drives, clean-up campaigns, and workshops on sustainable practices to protect and preserve our environment.
  • Community Outreach: Engaging in educational programs, skill development workshops, and support for underprivileged sections of society.
  • Disaster Relief: Providing assistance and support during natural disasters and emergencies.

Through these activities, NSS volunteers at Sahyajyothi College develop leadership skills, cultivate empathy, and build a strong sense of community. The NSS program not only enhances the personal growth of our students but also creates a positive impact on society, aligning with the college's mission to produce responsible and socially conscious individuals.
